Georgia CB Kelee Ringo, a potential top-10 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, declares after helping the Bulldogs to CFP championships

After a successful redshirt sophomore season with the Bulldogs, Georgia cornerback Kelee Ringo declared for the NFL Draft on Thursday. Ringo was named to the second team All-SEC while helping to anchor the Bulldogs’ secondary as the team won its second straight championship.

Ringo stated in a statement shared on social media that he felt at home as soon as he landed in Athens on his first visit. “You extended to me the kind of warm southern hospitality that most people outside of the region wouldn’t comprehend. I’ve accumulated a lot of memories, experiences, and most importantly, a fantastic education over my three years as a student athlete.”
Ringo missed his true freshman season in 2020 while recovering from surgery, but as a sophomore in 2021, when he entered the starting lineup early in the season and became a vital component of a dominating team, he started to live up to his five-star prospect billing. Ringo assumed a prominent position for Georgia’s defense in 2022 as one of the few returning starters. He had 42 tackles and two interceptions by the season’s end.
Many people will recall Ringo’s interception return for a score, which helped the Bulldogs defeat Alabama to win the national championship last year. Off the field, Ringo’s tale touched people all around the country as his mother fought breast cancer while he was at Georgia.
Ringo wrote, “You guys have been with me through the highs and lows.” And as a man who fears God, I am deeply appreciative of your ongoing prayers, support, and thoughts regarding breast cancer awareness, particularly the support for my mother Traelee Hale, who I consider to be my rock.
