Download and extract your Summer SVG file from Oladino. Open your cutting machine’s software (like Cricut Design Space or Silhouette Studio) and import the SVG file.

Resize your design to fit your t-shirt (typically 10-12 inches wide for adult shirts). For multi-colored designs, separate and arrange the layers.

Step 2: Cut Your Design

Select “Mirror” in your cutting software (this is crucial for heat transfer vinyl). Place your HTV on the cutting mat with the shiny/carrier side down.

Send to your cutting machine and let it work its magic. For multi-colored designs, cut each color separately.

Step 3: Weed Your Design

Use your weeding tools to carefully remove the excess vinyl around your design. Take your time with intricate details.

Pro tip: For complex designs, use a light pad underneath to make the cut lines more visible.

Step 4: Position and Press

Preheat your t-shirt by pressing it for 5-10 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.

Position your design on the t-shirt. If you have multiple layers, start with the bottom layer.

Cover with a Teflon sheet or parchment paper and press according to your vinyl’s instructions (typically 315°F/160°C for 15 seconds).

For layered designs, repeat this process for each layer, allowing a quick cool down between layers.

Step 5: Finishing Touches

Let your design cool completely (about 30 seconds to 1 minute).

Carefully peel off the carrier sheet. If the vinyl starts lifting, press again for a few more seconds.

For best results, turn the shirt inside out before washing and avoid using fabric softener.

Clean your tumbler thoroughly with rubbing alcohol and a lint-free cloth to remove any oils, fingerprints, or residue. This ensures proper adhesion of your vinyl.

Let the tumbler dry completely before applying vinyl.

Measure the height and circumference of your tumbler to determine the size of your design. For a standard 20oz tumbler, aim for a design around 3-4 inches tall.

For designs that wrap around the tumbler, you may need to create a template based on the tumbler’s circumference.

Step 3: Cut Your Design

Set your cutting machine to the appropriate settings for permanent vinyl (no need to mirror the design).

Place the vinyl on your cutting mat with the colored side facing up.

Send to your cutting machine and let it cut your design.

Step 4: Weed Your Design

Carefully remove the excess vinyl around your design using weeding tools.

Take extra care with small details and intricate parts of the design.

Step 5: Transfer Your Design

Apply transfer tape over your weeded design and burnish well using a scraper tool or credit card.

Slowly peel back the transfer tape at a 45-degree angle, ensuring the vinyl comes up with the tape.

Position your design on the tumbler. For wrapping designs, start from one edge and gradually wrap around.

Use a ruler or measuring tape to ensure your design is straight and properly aligned.

Step 6: Apply Your Design

Once positioned correctly, firmly burnish the design onto the tumbler, working from the center outward to remove any air bubbles.

Slowly peel away the transfer tape at a 45-degree angle. If parts of the design begin to lift, press the transfer tape back down and burnish again.

For curved surfaces, you may need to make small relief cuts in the transfer tape (not the design) to help it conform better.

Step 7: Seal Your Design (Optional)

For added durability, especially if the tumbler will be hand-washed frequently, apply a clear waterproof sealer over the design.

Apply thin, even coats according to the sealer’s instructions, allowing proper drying time between coats.

Let the sealer cure completely (usually 24-48 hours) before using the tumbler.
